President of the Republic of Mozambique Daniel Francisco Chapo arrived in Changsha, central China's Hunan Province, on Thursday for a week-long state visit, his first trip to China since he took office in 2025.
China and Mozambique have enjoyed a long-standing friendship. For over half a century since the establishment of diplomatic ties, the China-Mozambique friendship has continued to strengthen amid a changing international landscape, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said at a news briefing on Tuesday.
According to the spokesperson, political mutual trust between the two countries is deepening, with fruitful outcomes achieved in cooperation across various fields and close cooperation in international and regional issues.
Chapo's visit will help promote the in-depth development of China-Mozambique comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and also contribute to building the all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era and reinforcing the solidarity and cooperation in Global South, said the spokesperson.
