China recorded 30.08 million inbound visits by foreign nationals under visa-free policies in 2025, accounting for 73.1 percent of all foreign entries and marking a 49.5 percent year-on-year increase, according to data released by the National Immigration Administration (NIA).
The significant growth was driven by a series of visa facilitation measures implemented to enhance international travel and business exchanges.
Key policies include unilateral visa-free entry for citizens of 50 countries, a 240-hour transit visa exemption for nationals of 55 countries at 65 designated ports and mutual visa exemption agreements with 29 countries. These measures are designed to streamline entry for short-term business, tourism, and transit purposes.
Travelers are advised to consult official sources such as the NIA and the Consular Affairs website for the latest policy details before planning their trips, as regulations are subject to change.
