New vehicles with smart functions attract visitors at Guangzhou auto show. "New energy" and "intelligent features" have become the defining key words for multiple new vehicle models making debut at the ongoing 23rd Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in south China, attracting attendees.
As south China's biggest annual automotive industry exhibition, this year's event is taking place from Nov. 21 to 30 in Guangdong Province.
"Intelligent features" are a key theme at this year's exhibition. Both new energy upstarts and traditional automakers are promoting smart capabilities of their new products, along with future strategies.
Many local residents are visiting the exhibition in family groups. Spacious models with comfortable seating have become their top choice for potential purchases.
"The car offers a great interactive experience and plenty of interior space for users. I personally prefer a larger new energy vehicle with a higher chassis, as it provides a wider field of vision," said a visitor.
The exhibition showcases new products at various price points, catering to different consumer needs.
For example, a luxury new energy SUV, priced between 450,000 and 600,000 yuan (about 63,000 to 84,000 U.S. dollars), is very popular with attendees.
Another SUV, slated for release next year, is equipped with lidar and an advanced driver assistance system, and has a pre-sale price under 100,000 yuan (about 14,000 U.S. dollars).
"A good car must deliver strong power, ample horsepower, and sturdy construction to handle both highways and mountainous terrain -- that is what makes a truly superior vehicle," said a visitor.
Industry insiders said that as various policies to stabilize the economy and boost consumption take greater effects, the auto show is expected to spark a surge in year-end vehicle purchases.
