4,668.6 billion yuan in four months, profit up 2.2 percent, IT services up 12 percent and account for more than two-thirds of the industry
As reported by CCTV+, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Friday, from January to April, China’s software and IT services industry maintained stable operations. Software revenue grew steadily, and software exports continued to show positive momentum.
In the first four months, China’s software business revenue reached 4,668.6 billion yuan (about 689.97 billion US dollars). That is 10.9 percent higher than a year ago. Industry profit grew by 2.2 percent. Software exports increased by 13 percent to 20.65 billion US dollars.
Revenue from software products reached 1,046.4 billion yuan (about 154.65 billion US dollars). That is 8 percent higher than a year ago and accounts for 22.4 percent of total industry revenue. Revenue from IT services, which account for more than two-thirds of the industry, grew at a double-digit rate of 12 percent over the same period.
4.6 trillion yuan in revenue. 13 percent export growth. 12 percent for IT services. China’s software industry is not just surviving — it is growing. Despite global instability, companies continue to order development, support and cloud services. Software exports are up 13 percent. Western clients have not turned away. The digitalisation of the economy is gaining momentum. The question is not whether China will maintain this pace. It will. The question is when other countries will stop buying Chinese software and start creating their own. While they are hesitating, China is already programming. And selling. And growing.
