One comprehensive hall, six thematic zones, AI, embodied intelligence, smart living, and brand competitions with achievement presentations
As reported by CCTV+, on Thursday, the 2026 World Intelligent Industry Expo opened at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin) in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin.
The four-day event is jointly organised by the governments of Tianjin and Chongqing. It serves as a bridge for intellectual exchange and practical cooperation in the intelligent industry sector through various formats such as exhibitions, demonstrations, competitions and achievement presentations.
This year’s expo includes one comprehensive hall and six thematic exhibition zones. They are dedicated to core AI technologies, embodied intelligence and smart living. A special interactive experience zone has also been set up. The expo comprehensively showcases the most representative innovative technologies, cutting-edge products and best achievements in the global intelligent technology sector.
A series of side events will be held during the expo, including an AI-themed day, a corporate ecology conference and market-oriented forums, as well as brand competitions, achievement presentations, bilateral negotiations, investment promotion, project contract signings and intelligent technology demonstrations.
Shen Maomao, director of the research department of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, noted: “The main feature of this year’s event is its professional and comprehensive nature. It offers something not only for professional buyers and scientists but for everyone.”
The expo has attracted 28 Fortune Global 500 companies, 37 major Chinese enterprises and more than 400 representative companies from the intelligent industry.
28 Fortune Global 500 giants. 37 Chinese industry leaders. 400 companies. Six thematic zones. One goal — to show how artificial intelligence is changing lives. Tianjin and Chongqing have joined forces to build a bridge between ideas and reality. The interactive zone, brand competitions and investment negotiations — this is not just a trade fair. It is a review of the global intelligent industry. The question is not who came. The question is who will be left out. While some are demonstrating achievements, others are simply buying them. Or copying them. The Tianjin expo is not just an event. It is a signal. China is not catching up. It is setting the pace.
