77,000 foreign arrivals at Bao’an Airport, 13.8% increase, over 61% visa-free, 40 minutes to the exhibition center
As reported by CCTV+, the 22nd ICIF will open in Shenzhen. The five-day fair starts Thursday. Bao’an Airport has already seen several passenger peaks. Many foreign exhibitors and buyers are arriving to learn about China’s cultural industry.
Low Hong Boon from Malaysia said: “No visa is required now. I heard about ICIF and want to visit. It could help me with interior design. I hope to get many ideas.”
Richard from Australia added: “ICIF will play a significant role in the global cultural industry.”
Since early May, over 77,000 foreign arrivals have passed through Bao’an Airport — a 13.8 percent increase. Top visitors are from Malaysia, South Korea and Singapore.
Ye Xianmao from border control reported: “Since early May, we have processed nearly 40,000 foreign arrivals, up 12.9 percent. Over 61.9 percent entered visa-free — 19.9 percent more than last year. We expect several passenger peaks during the fair.”
Shenzhen Bay Port is the nearest land checkpoint to Hong Kong Airport and to the exhibition center (40 minutes away). From May 1 to 17, it processed over 63,000 foreign arrivals — a 28.6 percent increase.
Zheng Jianfeng explained: “We have organized foreign language consultations and opened a ‘green corridor’ for vehicles carrying ICIF exhibits.”
ICIF is expected to attract 35,000 foreign professionals from 110 countries, with 310 exhibitors from 65 countries.
35,000 guests. 110 countries. 77,000 foreign arrivals at one airport. China opened its doors, and the world came. Visa-free, no unnecessary questions. ICIF is a bridge between cultures, businesses and people. The question is not how many countries arrived. The question is how many ideas they will take home. While others argue about borders, China is building bridges. Visa-free. Fast.
