The Kazakh city of Almaty will become the sports capital of the CIS countries in 2026. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Sports of the Russian
Federation Alexey Morozov, reports TASS.
The second largest Azerbaijani city - Ganja - will host the third Games of the CIS
countries. Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Mariana Vasileva
told journalists about this, TASS reports.
Athletes of Turkmenistan took part in the opening ceremony of the II Games of the
CIS countries, which took place at the “Minsk-Arena” in the capital of Belarus.
The honor to become the flag bearer fell to freestyle wrestler Zyyamukhammed
Saparov, who is the bronze medalist of the 2017 World Championship and the
2023 Asian champion.
