Xi'an City in northwest China's Shaanxi Province has handled over 2,000 China-Europe freight train trips this year as of Friday.
On Friday, a China-Europe freight train loaded with goods, including automotive parts and new energy materials, departed from Xi'an International Port Station and headed west to Duisburg in Germany, marking the 2,000th China-Europe freight train handled by Xi'an in 2026.
The total freight volume transported has exceeded 2.1 million tonnes in this period.
Data from the China Railway Group show that in the first quarter of this year, Xi'an handled 1,631 China-Europe freight trains, up 7.4 percent year on year.
