The draft Constitutional Law of Uzbekistan "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was printed in Braille, the National News Agency of Uzbekistan reports.
The publication was prepared by the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights and the Center for Sustainable Development. It serves to ensure the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of Uzbeks with disabilities.
It is noteworthy that more than half of the norms in the text of the updated basic law are aimed at strengthening guarantees for the protection of human rights and freedoms. In particular, in accordance with article 57 of the new draft Constitution of Uzbekistan, the rights of persons with disabilities and lonely elderly people, as well as other needy categories of the population are protected by the State.
Earlier, the Constitution of Uzbekistan and the Law "On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities" were first printed in Braille on the initiative of the National Center for Human Rights in 2020.
