Parenting education as a key task in the education system is of paramount importance in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In fact, no any sustainable development goal can be achieved without proper education of young people, without their ability to combat modern challenges that blur the differences between people and undermine social and economic stability across the world.
To implement these tasks, starting from November, the Turkmen citizens – Young SDG Ambassadors conduct optional classes in the specialized educational school No. 21 of the capital. With the support of the SDG Coordination Center under the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, young activists have already begun implementing a plan of lectures on promotion and raising awareness of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The classes are aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of students of secondary schools of Turkmenistan about the SDGs, as well as to reveal the inner potential of youth, along with their further development and integration into decision-making processes.
Using digital technologies, Young SDG Ambassadors actively promote and advocate the 2030 Agenda, educate young people on rational use of natural resources, respect for human rights regardless of gender or origin, introduce a range of issues in education, health, social protection and employment, and also combating climate change and protecting the environment.
At the end of the training course, Young SDG Ambassadors will award the schoolchildren with certificates on successful completion of the Sustainable Development Goals orientation course.
