A telephone conversation between foreign ministers, the extension of a temporary ceasefire, UN coordination and an all-weather strategic partnership

This is according to a statement from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (May 13, 2026).

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday called on Pakistan to step up its mediation efforts. He asked Islamabad to contribute to properly resolving issues related to opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the appeal during a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

Dar briefed Wang Yi on Pakistan’s recent mediation efforts in facilitating talks between Iran and the United States. He thanked China for supporting Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue. Dar also expressed hope for strengthening coordination with China to play a joint positive role in maintaining regional peace and stability.

Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s principled position. He highly appreciated Pakistan’s facilitation of US-Iran talks and its help in extending a temporary ceasefire. Wang Yi expressed hope that Pakistan would maintain confidence and contribute to the swift restoration of regional peace. This, he said, is also a common aspiration of the international community. China will continue to support Pakistan’s mediation efforts and will make its own contribution to achieving this goal.

Noting that China and Pakistan will mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in a few days, Wang Yi said that both sides should jointly hold commemorative events, maintain close high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic communication, consolidate their unbreakable friendship, develop practical cooperation, better protect each other’s core interests and the common interests of China and Pakistan, and elevate the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic partnership to a new level.

Wang Yi added that in a world full of changes and upheavals, both sides should uphold the just positions of China and Pakistan on multilateral platforms such as the UN, and jointly uphold multilateralism.

For his part, Dar stated that Pakistan is ready to take the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to deepen comprehensive cooperation with China, strengthen multilateral coordination, and work for new progress in the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership.

Seventy-five years of friendship is not just a date. It is a test of time. And now, as the world stands frozen in anticipation at the Strait of Hormuz, two old friends are checking their watches again. Pakistan is talking to Iran. China is maintaining the strategic balance. The US is waiting. And ships still are not moving. Diplomacy is not always about loud statements. Sometimes it is a telephone conversation. One that decides whether war will begin tomorrow or a fragile ceasefire will be extended.

China and Pakistan are celebrating 75 years. But the greatest gift they can give the world is peace. They need one more call. To Tehran. And an answer that no one wants to give first.

In the context of rapidly changing global economies, transport and logistics are becoming more than just infrastructure elements, but crucial instruments of economic and geopolitical influence. Against this backdrop, the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is gradually emerging as one of the most promising platforms for regional cooperation in Eurasia. The development of transport and transit links, which are now becoming the foundation for the economic integration of the Turkic countries, holds a special place in the Organization's activities.

In this regard, the informal summit of the OTS, which will take place on May 14-15 this year in Turkestan (Republic of Kazakhstan), will be positive step in further strengthening the position of the Organization, deepening cooperation and uniting the efforts of all Turkic states.

Transport as the basis of a new Eurasian architecture

Today, the member states of the OTS interact in more than 40 areas – from economics and energy to digital technologies and artificial intelligence. However, transport sphere is gradually becoming the main driver of integration.

This is due to the unique geographical location of the Turkic countries. The region is located at the intersection of major international routes connecting Europe, Central Asia, China, the Middle East, and South Asia. A new Eurasian logistics system is effectively emerging, in which the OTS’s member states play a key link between East and West.

Amid the transformation of global supply chains and growing competition between international transport routes, the states of the region are striving not only to strengthen their own infrastructure but also to create a unified transit and logistics space.

Formation of a common transport policy

In recent years, a solid legal framework has been created within the OTS, which enshrines the strategic importance of this area in documents such as «Turkic Vision 2040» and «OTS Strategy for 2022–2026».

The 2022 Samarkand Summit was of particular significance, as it saw the signing of «Agreement on International Combined Freight Transport among the Governments of the Member States of the OTS» and «the Transport Connectivity Program». These documents ushered in a new era of cooperation among Turkic countries in the near future and established specific mechanisms for its implementation.

An important step was the introduction of the e-CMR system in 2026, which allows for the electronic transfer of transport documentation. This significantly simplifies transportation, reduces bureaucratic procedures, and expedites the passage of goods across state borders. At the same time, cooperation is developing in the digitalization of customs processes, the implementation of electronic permits, and the unification of transit procedures.

Institutional strengthening of cooperation

In recent years, the OTS has been consistently developing an institutional framework for transport integration, moving cooperation from a political and declarative level to a practical level. Regular meetings of the competent authorities of the Organization’s member states play a key role in this process.

Thus, at the meeting of OTS Transport ministers in April 2026 in Bishkek, the focus was on the development of transport corridors and the removal of border crossing barriers. Essentially, this is about creating a more coordinated regional transport system capable of increasing the competitiveness of OTS routes amid growing freight flows between Asia and Europe.

Meetings of heads of railway administration, held since 2022, serve a similar function. At the October 2025 meeting in Bishkek, issues of digitalization of transportation management and improving the efficiency of rail service were discussed. This demonstrates the desire of the OTS countries to unify transport procedures and reduce logistics costs within the region.

An additional step toward institutionalization was the creation of the Alliance of Logistics Centers and Cargo Carriers within the OTS in Tashkent in 2024. The establishment of this structure demonstrates a shift toward deeper business involvement in transport integration processes.

Transport corridors as a strategic basis for the integration of OTS countries

One of the key areas of the OTS's transport strategy is the creation of a unified space of transport connectivity, centered on the development of international corridors linking East and West, as well as North and South Eurasia.

The «Middle Corridor», connecting China and Europe via Central Asia and the South Caucasus, is particularly important in this system. Against the backdrop of the transformation of global logistics, geopolitical instability, and the desire of states to diversify trade routes, this corridor is becoming one of the most promising transport arteries in Eurasia.

While the volume of traffic along this route remained relatively limited in 2020, by 2025 it exceeded 5 million tons, an increase of almost sixfold. This demonstrates the gradual transformation of the «Middle Corridor» from an alternative route into an important element of the global transport system.

Moreover, the corridor's significance extends far beyond its purely transit function. For the OTS’s member states, its development means strengthening trade and economic ties, expanding access to external markets, attracting investment, and increasing the resilience of national economies to external challenges. In the long term, the «Middle Corridor» is seen as the foundation for the development of a new model of Eurasian connectivity.

A key element of this strategy is the implementation of the «China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan» railway project, which is already considered one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Central Asia. Construction of the highway, which includes 50 bridges and 29 tunnels with a total length of approximately 120 kilometers, is estimated to cost approximately $4.7 billion.

The project will significantly reduce freight delivery times between China and Europe, strengthen Central Asia’s transit potential, and enhance the integration of the OTS’s transport system. Essentially, this creates a new strategic route capable of transforming the region's logistics configuration.

Equally important is the development of the «Trans-Afghan Corridor», which opens OTS countries to the markets of South Asia, with a population of approximately 1,9 billion and a combined GDP of approximately $3,5 trillion. For Central Asian states, this creates opportunities to diversify foreign trade, expand export routes, and reduce transportation costs. At the same time, the Trans-Afghan route has the potential to become a factor in the economic stabilization of the region by boosting trade, investment, and industrial cooperation.

Uzbekistan as a Driver of Transport Integration in the OTS

Since the Republic of Uzbekistan joined the Organization of Turkic States in 2019, transport and logistics cooperation has become a key focus of the country's foreign economic strategy within the Organization. Against the backdrop of the transformation of global supply chains, the growing importance of alternative Eurasian routes, and increased competition among international transport corridors, Tashkent has consistently promoted initiatives aimed at creating a unified transport and transit space for the OTS.

The initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, play a key role in advancing this agenda. He views transport connectivity as a key factor in regional integration and economic development. At the OTS summit in Turkey in 2021, the head of state emphasized the need for systemic cooperation in transport and transit, effectively marking a shift to a more comprehensive approach within the Organization. This agenda received significant impetus at the 2022 Samarkand Summit, where Uzbekistan advocated for the development of multimodal routes and the implementation of the e-TIR, e-Permit, and e-CMR electronic systems.

Uzbek logistics centers Universal Logistics Services (Tashkent), Akhtachy (Andijan), and Termez Cargo Center (Surkhandarya) joined the «Sister Ports» initiative, marking a practical step toward integrating Uzbekistan’s transport infrastructure into the regional logistics network.

At the summit in Astana in 2023, Uzbekistan again emphasized the diversification of transport routes and the development of the «Middle Corridor», which, in the current geo-economic environment, is acquiring strategic significance as an perspective route between Asia and Europe. At the same time, Tashkent promoted for the expansion of transport routes connecting OTS countries with the markets of China, South Asia, and Europe.

A logical continuation of this line of action was the initiatives announced at the OTS summit in Bishkek in November 2024. The focus was on optimizing transit tariffs, simplifying border procedures, creating joint logistics mechanisms, and transitioning to electronic document management.

In May 2025, at the informal OTS summit in Hungary, Uzbekistan supported for the accelerated implementation of «single-window» systems and «green corridors» along the Trans-Caspian route. At the summit in Gabala in November 2025, special attention was paid to enhancing the competitiveness of the «Middle Corridor», modernizing infrastructure, and other areas. Particular importance was placed on linking this route with the «China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan» railway project and the «Trans-Afghan Corridor», which effectively creates a new system of transport connectivity across a vast region.

The International Forum on Multimodal Transportation held in Tashkent on November 12, 2025, was a practical confirmation of Uzbekistan's growing role in the OTS’s transport agenda.

Overall, the Turkic countries are already demonstrating a willingness to move beyond the idea ofpartnership to the creation of a unified interconnected space. Joint infrastructure projects, the development of interregional corridors, the digitalization of logistics, and Uzbekistan’s active role in promoting these processes form the foundation of a new transport architecture within the OTS.

The crisis in the Strait of Hormuz has become a "wake-up call" for the regional energy sector, confirming the need to develop overland routes for resource supply. Pakistani Ambassador to Russia Faisal Niyaz Tirmizi stated this in an interview with TASS.

According to the diplomat, instability in traditional sea routes, through which more than 20% of the world's oil passes, is forcing Islamabad to actively seek alternatives. Pakistan, which imports approximately 90% of its energy needs, sees a strategic solution in the creation of an extensive pipeline network from Central Asia.

"At some point, alternative pipelines from Turkmenistan and even from Russia to South Asia will be discussed. The situation in the Strait of Hormuz has forced us to consider building pipelines from Central Asia," Faisal Niyaz Tirmizi emphasized.

The Ambassador noted that Pakistan strives for the full integration of the Eurasian space through the connection of roads, railways, and energy routes. In this context, projects originating in Turkmenistan are viewed as a reliable guarantee of the region's energy security, independent of geopolitical risks in the Persian Gulf region.

The diplomat also recalled that the leaders of Pakistan and Russia met twice last year—in Beijing and Ashgabat—confirming the regional platforms' status in the formation of a new North-South connectivity architecture.

The government of Belarus has decided to substantially revise export duties on petroleum products. The relevant resolution, signed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, introduces new tariff rates for liquefied hydrocarbon gases. According to reports by BELTA, the changes came into force retroactively from May 1, 2026.

The changes affect key export categories in the gas sector. The increase in duties is substantial:

— Liquefied hydrocarbon gases: the duty rate increased from $5.2 to $131.6 per ton.
— Ethane, butane, and isobutane: tariffs rose from $4.6 to $118.4 per ton.

Such a sharp increase in export duties is a tool of state regulation over revenues from foreign trade in energy resources. Measures of this kind are usually adopted to adapt to changing global market conditions and to protect the country’s budget interests.

The resolution enters into force after its official publication, but legally applies to all export operations carried out since the beginning of the current month. Participants in foreign economic activity should take the new financial conditions into account when calculating the profitability of supplies.

This decision highlights the Belarusian government’s intention to strengthen control over revenues in the energy sector and to synchronize taxation mechanisms with its partners in economic unions.

A meeting was held in Tokyo between the leadership of the International University for the Humanities and Development and the president of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS). The parties discussed the development of academic ties and new opportunities for students and faculty members of both countries. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

Cooperation between the universities is based on a Memorandum signed back in 2015. Since then, the partnership has produced tangible results: starting from 2017, 11 students from Turkmenistan have already studied in Japan under exchange programs.

Participants of the meeting emphasized that such internships and exchange opportunities provide not only in-depth language learning, but also invaluable international experience that makes graduates more competitive in the labor market.

Key areas and the Global Japan Office

Special attention during the talks was given to the activities of the Global Japan Office, which has been successfully operating at the International University for the Humanities and Development in Ashgabat since 2016. The office has become an important link in promoting Japanese language and culture in Turkmenistan, strengthening direct contacts between scholars of the two countries, and creating new platforms for youth dialogue.

Representatives of the universities agreed to expand academic mobility programs. This means that in the near future, even more students and professors will be able to participate in joint research projects and educational initiatives.

Further strengthening of the partnership will become an important factor in training highly qualified international specialists capable of working effectively in the context of global integration.

Under the leadership of world-renowned designer Melek Zeynep Bulut, the forum will extend beyond traditional conference halls. Historic locations, including the grounds of Topkapı Palace, will be transformed into art spaces. Unique installations by leading international artists and designers will turn the city into an open-air creative laboratory.

The forum program includes several key areas:

• Discussion platform: global experts will discuss the role of design in addressing today’s global challenges.

• “Rethinking” competition: a project aimed at reviving Istanbul’s unique garden culture.

• “İstanbullar” initiative: a platform was created to support and promote local creative youth.

The creative ecosystem of a metropolis

The choice of Istanbul as the host city is no coincidence. Today, the city has a highly developed infrastructure, including 41 congress centers, 225 galleries, and 27 universities offering design-related programs. Its reputation as a cultural hub is reinforced each year by events such as the Istanbul Biennial and Contemporary Istanbul art fair.

For visitors, the forum will offer a chance to experience Istanbul from a new perspective. The combination of centuries-old architecture, traditional craftsmanship, and bold innovation creates a unique cultural atmosphere, making the city’s May events calendar especially vibrant.

Supported by the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), the Global Design Forum aims to strengthen Istanbul’s role as a dynamic center on the global stage of contemporary design.

A long political era under Viktor Orbán has come to an end in Hungary. At the first session of the newly elected parliament, 45-year-old leader of the Tisza Party, Peter Magyar, was elected Prime Minister of the country. His candidacy was supported by 140 lawmakers, marking a major shift in both Hungary’s domestic and foreign policy.

Immediately after taking office, the flag of the European Union was returned to the Hungarian Parliament building after being absent for many years. Newly elected Speaker of Parliament Ágnes Forsthoffer called the gesture the first symbolic step toward Hungary’s return to the European family.

In his inaugural speech, Peter Magyar stated that he intended not to “rule,” but to “serve his country.” His main priorities include fighting corruption through the creation of an independent body to investigate past abuses, deeply reforming the healthcare and education systems, and restoring the rule of law in order to rebuild trust with EU and NATO partners.

Magyar’s election prompted a swift reaction in Brussels and Kyiv. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen described the changes in Hungary as a strong signal in difficult times. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also congratulated the new head of government and expressed readiness to build strong neighborly relations.

The first steps of the new cabinet have already confirmed the change in political direction. Following Magyar’s victory, Hungary lifted its veto on a new large-scale European Union loan package for Ukraine and supported another round of sanctions.

Peter Magyar is a professional lawyer and charismatic speaker who rapidly emerged on the political scene in early 2024. His Tisza Party secured more than two-thirds of the seats in parliament by offering voters a broad reform agenda focused on reducing poverty and strengthening social policy.

Former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who had led the government continuously for 16 years, did not attend the parliamentary session. Earlier, he had officially declined to take up his parliamentary mandate.

3,000 new jobs from Chery, 50,000 vehicles per year by 2027, charging stations from BYD and a challenge to Western brands

This is according to a CCTV+ report from South Africa (May 13, 2026).

South Africa is becoming a strategic hub for China’s automotive industry in Africa. Chinese automakers are expanding their global manufacturing presence, including the African continent.

As companies like BYD and Chery increase their presence in Africa, there is a shift from mere consumption to production. This is creating challenges for traditional global brands. The South African market is already shifting from Western and Japanese brands to rapidly growing Chinese ones.

BAIC led the push of Chinese manufacturing into South Africa back in 2016. Since then, investment has surged. Chery, one of China’s top three passenger car manufacturers, took a bold step by acquiring Nissan’s struggling plant in Pretoria. This could potentially create 3,000 new jobs.

Rodney Genga, Professor of Materials Science and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand, noted: “They anticipate that by 2027, when everything is up and running, they will be producing at least 50,000 units per year.

That’s not bad. It creates opportunities, creates jobs, and also helps develop related industries — whether it’s the tire industry, auto parts manufacturers or auxiliary industries. That’s a huge advantage that instills confidence in this sector.”

BYD, the world’s largest manufacturer of new energy vehicles, is also strengthening its position in South Africa. Although local production is not yet planned, the company is contributing to the transition to greener mobility.

Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, stated: “We need to invest in dealerships. There need to be very strong, high-quality dealerships here. This will indirectly help create around 2,000 jobs. And secondly, we will invest in charging infrastructure. That is very important. I think we need such a foundation for our next step.”

This confidence resonates at the local level as well. South Africans are beginning to expect larger investments from Chinese automakers. Genga added: “If we cooperate properly with China, which today is the world’s largest country in terms of renewable energy vehicle industrialization, and strategically cooperate in investing in any new technologies being developed here, we will become co-developers with a clear focus on the region.”

South Africa was once the gateway for European and Japanese cars. Now that gateway is turning east. Chinese brands are not just selling cars — they are building factories, training people, laying charging stations. And they are doing it as if they plan to stay for a long time. The question is not whether they will displace competitors. The question is whether Western and Japanese giants will respond in time, before Chinese auto plants fill every corner of the space. The race has just begun. But the first meters already belong to China.

A shortage of 44 million teachers, 500 international guests, agreements with Uzbekistan and Brazil, an updated intelligent education platform

This is according to the outcomes of the World Digital Education Conference in Hangzhou (May 13, 2026).

At the 2026 World Digital Education Conference held on Tuesday in Hangzhou, eastern China, eight major consensuses and agreements were presented. Participants discussed solutions and standards to promote the integration of artificial intelligence into education worldwide.

Among the outcomes were an AI in education initiative and an updated version of China’s intelligent education platform for public services.

The three-day conference, which opened on Monday, aims to create an open and inclusive global platform for dialogue, and to help reach consensus and establish norms for artificial intelligence governance in education. The event was held under the motto “AI plus Education: Transformation, Development and Governance”. It attracted more than 850 guests from 65 countries and regions around the world.

Yang Dan, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at China’s Ministry of Education, noted: “This conference surpassed the previous three in terms of international influence and participation, bringing together more than 500 international guests. During the conference, we also signed intergovernmental agreements on AI-assisted education cooperation with Uzbekistan and Brazil.

Meanwhile, AI cooperation has become a new promising direction for collaboration between schools, enterprises and universities.”

According to UNESCO data, by 2030 the world will still need about 44 million teachers. Faced with this fundamental challenge, conference participants agreed that vigilance must also be maintained on ethical and security issues, as AI is increasingly used in education.

UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany stated: “Attention must be paid to the ethical use of AI and to avoiding any harm to education. We hope to continue this deep partnership with China in the field of education, and to use technology in education in an ethical, inclusive and equitable manner.”

Forty-four million teachers. That is not just a number. That is every second classroom in the world without an adult at the blackboard. Artificial intelligence will not solve this problem. But it can ensure that the remaining teachers are no longer alone. Platforms, algorithms, digital assistants. None of this is a replacement for a human being. It is reinforcement. The Hangzhou conference did not change the world in three days. But it showed which direction the world is moving.

And signed agreements that may look historic a year from now. The question is whether we will be ready for 2030. Or whether we will be playing catch-up again.

U.S. President Donald Trump's upcoming state visit to China is attracting global attention as China-U.S. relations and the international landscape undergo a profound realignment, with the Middle East standing at a fragile crossroads.

At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump will pay a state visit to China from May 13 to 15, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Monday. The trip marks the first visit to China by a U.S. president since Trump visited in 2017. Xi and Trump last met in October 2025 in Busan, the Republic of Korea (ROK).

"This is the first time in nine years that a U.S. president has set foot on Chinese soil. Both China and the United States are major powers -- they are political heavyweights as permanent members of the UN Security Council, and they are the world's two largest economies. How they interact profoundly impacts the future development of the international situation. Therefore, this visit is, to a certain extent, very important for both countries and for the future direction of global politics and economics," said Gao Fei, President of the China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU).

Head-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable strategic guiding role in China-U.S. relations. Since last year, Trump has repeatedly expressed his willingness to visit China, with both sides maintaining steady communication over the arrangements for the trip.

As China-U.S. ties and the international landscape undergo a profound realignment, global attention will focus on how both sides will use this visit to hold in-depth exchanges on economic and trade cooperation, as well as other core concerns.

"Since the beginning of 2025, the two heads of state have held five phone calls, and of course, the Busan meeting was equally important. One of the core issues in these interactions remains economy and trade, and this visit will also focus heavily on economic and trade matters. In this field, both sides should adhere to the principle of looking at the big picture and taking a long-term view. They should make continuous efforts to work in the same direction, expand the cooperation list, and narrow the disagreement list. This will be conducive to the respective interests of both parties and meet the general expectations of the international community," said Diao Daming, Vice Dean of the National Academy of Development and Strategy at Renmin University of China.

In the run-up to the state visit, as agreed by both countries, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will lead a delegation to the ROK from May 12 to 13 to hold economic and trade consultations with a senior U.S. delegation.

For the state visit to Beijing, Trump is expected to be accompanied by a delegation of prominent U.S. business leaders.

Data from the American Chamber of Commerce in China earlier this year showed a significant rise in optimism among U.S. firms regarding the future growth of the Chinese market. More than half of those surveyed reported either profitability or strong profitability in the past year, while over 70 percent have no plans to relocate operations outside of China, and nearly 60 percent intend to increase their investments. These figures underscore the reality that "cooperation benefits both while confrontation hurts both" is not mere political rhetoric, but a profound conclusion drawn from years of experience.

"We have repeatedly emphasized that China and the U.S. gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation; cooperation is the only correct choice. Over the recent stretch, whether during periods of friction or the general stability maintained over the last year, the contrasting outcomes of these different paths have been clearly demonstrated. Clearly, the overall stability of the recent period is a positive result of choosing the direction of dialogue and cooperation," Diao said.

Notably, the visit comes amid a flurry of frequent exchanges at all levels and across various sectors. Last week, the first U.S. bipartisan congressional delegation to visit China since Trump took office was led by Steve Daines, a U.S. Republican senator from Montana.

More pragmatic voices are also emerging from the U.S. strategic community. Michael Froman, President of the Council on Foreign Relations, recently remarked that the world is safer when the two most influential and largest economies maintain open lines of communication.

"I think the outcome will be just the fact of the visit, the fact that the two leaders connect and talk about a whole range of strategic issues. I think they want to make sure that we can continue this stability that we've found over the last year, which is something that needs to continue in to the future. So I think these meetings will help to do that," said Susan Thornton, a senior fellow at Yale Law School.

"Seeing China-U.S. relations from an objective perspective, the two countries certainly cannot solve all problems through a single high-level exchange. However, I believe this interaction can at least push the two countries to re-establish new perceptions and find a new and correct path to coexistence," Gao said.

The first official case of artificial intelligence addiction treatment has been recorded in Italy, according to SERD, Italy's national service for helping people with addictions.

According to medical professionals, the patient was a 20-year-old woman. She regularly and continuously interacted with a neural network service, gradually developing an emotional attachment to the system.

Over time, the artificial intelligence reportedly began to better adapt to her communication style, and she began to perceive it as a "safe companion" and "friend." This led to social isolation and a gradual distancing from her real-life environment.

The medical institution's chief physician, Laura Suardi, stated that this case was not unexpected by specialists.

She noted that the development of digital technologies and the widespread use of neural networks are creating the conditions for the development of new forms of psychological addiction.

Digit Androids Are Used to Assemble the Toyota RAV4

Digit humanoid robots have begun working at a Toyota plant in Ontario, Canada. They are used to produce the Toyota RAV4 crossover for the Canadian market.

The robots perform heavy and repetitive tasks previously performed by factory employees.

Robotic Functions in Production

Digit performs basic logistics tasks:

moving containers with automotive components, delivering parts to the assembly line, and removing empty containers.

The company notes that the use of robots reduces the workload on staff and reduces the risk of burnout.

Collaboration and Project Development

The project is being implemented under an agreement between Toyota and developer Agility Robotics, signed earlier this year.

Currently, three robots are working at the facility, but their number is planned to increase in the future. An artificial intelligence system for distributing tasks between humans and robots is also being developed.

Industry Context

Other automakers are also testing similar technologies. In March, BMW announced the launch of an experiment with humanoid robots called Aeon at its Leipzig plant.

The visit of a delegation from the International University of Humanities and Development (IUHD) to Japan yielded concrete technological results. A key outcome of the negotiations with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) was an initiative to provide Turkmen students with a free certified course in artificial intelligence.

At the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS), Vice-Rector Nurmuhammet Shikhliev discussed the development of academic mobility with his Japanese colleagues. Since 2017, 11 IUHD students have already studied in Japan, and the parties now intend to intensify joint research and the digitalization of the educational process.

The Global Japan Office, which has been coordinating cultural and educational projects in Ashgabat since 2016, remains an important point of interaction. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tokyo hosted meetings with Asia SEED and JICA, focusing on training personnel for the green economy and integrating high technologies into interdisciplinary programs.

The Japanese side confirmed its willingness to share its experience, which will create additional opportunities for professional growth for Turkmen youth in the fields of IT and sustainable development.

Today, the national Cyrillic domain .РФ celebrates its 16th anniversary.

May 12, 2010 became a historic date for the Russian internet and the global internet community: on that day, the .РФ domain was officially delegated to Russia. It became the world’s first Cyrillic top-level domain. Its launch gave millions of Russian-speaking users the opportunity to create domain names in their native language.

The successful development of the .РФ domain zone proved the strong demand for domains based on national alphabets and became an important milestone for the emergence of IDN domains worldwide. Sixteen years later, .РФ remains not only the undisputed leader among Cyrillic domains, but also the largest internationalized country-code top-level domain in the world.

Today, 802,020 domain names are registered in the .РФ zone, with 95.3% of them delegated. Most domains — 82.4% — are registered by individuals, while 17.6% belong to legal entities. In addition, 95.6% of administrators are Russian citizens and organizations, highlighting the importance of .РФ as a national digital space.

A total of 185 accredited registrars and more than 352,000 administrators work with .РФ domains. On average, 21,313 new domains are registered every month, which is 18.8% higher than a year earlier. This growth reflects increasing demand for Cyrillic domains from both users and businesses.

At the same time, 30.8% of domains lead to web applications or one-page websites, 23.8% host full-scale websites, 26.3% are used for parking, 11.8% support mail services, and 7.3% are used for redirects.

The most active use of .РФ domains for website hosting is observed in Russia’s regions. Crimea became the leader, where websites are hosted on 36.7% of registered domain names. High figures were also recorded in the Republic of Tuva (36.2%), Ryazan Region (33.9%), the Jewish Autonomous Region (33.5%), and Omsk Region (32.9%).

Among the most popular words used in .РФ domain registrations are «авто», «дом», «строй», «сервис», «центр», «ремонт», «мастер», «россия», «купить» and «спб». This reflects the main areas where Cyrillic domains are used: services, trade, construction, the automotive sector, as well as federal and regional projects.

Since 2025, .РФ has allowed domain registration not only in Russian, but also in 18 state languages of Russia’s republics. Today, more than 2,000 domains have been registered in national languages. Users most frequently register domains in Tatar and Bashkir, while the most demanded characters include “ҡ,” “ө,” “ү,” “ә,” and “ӑ.”

“The .РФ domain continues to demonstrate steady growth. More and more users are choosing Cyrillic domains for personal projects, business, public, educational, and cultural initiatives. Today, .РФ is not only the world’s largest Cyrillic domain, but also a point of unity for the languages and cultures of Russia’s peoples in the digital space. We will continue expanding its capabilities and adding new languages,” said Andrey Vorobyov.
