You are not alone: hits of the legendary musician again sound in Ashgabat

“All I want is to bring people joy and love with my creativity,” Michael Jackson once said. Ten years after the Legend’s death, his music continues to sound on the planet.

On Sunday evening, December 8, in Ashgabat, the Cultural Center of the oil and gas complex hosted a music program dedicated to the idol of millions that was a really boffo success. The string orchestra conducted by Tahir Ataev presented in their interpretation the hits of the King of Pop.

Orchestra musicians and the conductor appeared before the audience in red shirts and shiny gloves on right hand – the most recognized attribute of the stage image of Michael Jackson.

The cult hit Thriller opened the show program. It was followed by the melodic ballad Smile performed by Bahar Durdyeva, the audience’s favorite. The rhythmic composition They Don`t Care About Us, the rhythm & blues ballad, was with fiery performed by Dovran Shammyev, who also performed other songs of Michael Jackson: Earth Song” and Black or White, where the musician hares his thought about pollution of nature , war and racial equality.

As a sign of light, love and kindness all over the world, Dovran asked the audience to turn on flashlights during the performance of the Earth Song – it was corresponding a ritual featured the performances of Michael Jackson.

In a gentle and filigree way of singing style, the solo singer Aynur Mahmudova performed the ballad about love and loneliness, You Are Not Alone. A soulful and touching atmosphere captured the hall …

The program also featured the striking choreographic performances by artist Rovshan Melyaev, who repeated the sense of rhythm and the famous moonwalk of Michael Jackson. Under the rhythmic melodies, the audience also wanted to come together with the dance music.

The audience gave storm of applauses to the orchestra members and the conductor for the wonderful musical festival, which demonstrated the impact of Michael Jackson’s creative heritage on people of different generations.
