From May 20-28, the 72nd World Health Assembly is taking place in Geneva. With the participation of delegations from all WHO Member States. The Turkmen delegation includes specialists from the Ministry of Health of the medical industry, the national parliament, the Foreign Ministry, and others.

WHO Director General Tedros Gebreus urged the leaders of the Ministry of Health of the WHO Member States to take the lead in high-level meetings on universal health coverage, to be held in New York in September 2019.

In their speech at the plenary session, the members of the Turkmen delegation shared their experience in implementing the national program “Immunization for the period 2003-2020”, developed in accordance with WHO recommendations and objectives for improving the health of the population, reducing morbidity, disability, mortality, improving accessibility and quality. medical care, which correspond to the global priorities “Leaving noone behind”.

It is planned that during the session problems of antimicrobial resistance, emergency preparedness, tobacco control, elimination of industrial trans fats from the world food supply, etc. will be discussed.
