Umid Ahmadjonov was elected president of the Football Association of Central Asia

Elections for the new president of the organization were held at a congress of the Football Association of Central Asia (CAFA) held in Tashkent on February 24th. By the results of the voting, Umid Ahmadjonov became the president, according to the official website of the Football Association of Uzbekistan.

The Congress was attended by the President of the Football Federation of Kyrgyzstan Semetey Sultanov, vice president of the FF of Kazakhstan Dastanbek Konokbayev, representatives of Turkmenistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, as well as delegates from South Korea and Qatar.

Umid Ahmadjonov is also the president of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.

The Football Association of Central Asia was founded in 2015 and unites the national football federations of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran and Afghanistan.
