Turkmenistan introduces benefits for tourists from the Land of the Rising Sun

Turkmenistan introduces consular and visa benefits for tourists from Japan. The relevant decree at a government meeting was signed by President Berdimuhamedov. The document prescribes for issuing a one-time tourist visa for a period of 10 days for Japanese citizens who come to Turkmenistan with established preferential tariff.

The document also provides for a number of other benefits. Among them, Japanese tourists are exempted from paying consular and additional fees for carrying out urgent consular work when issuing visas during non-working hours, on weekends and public holidays, etc.

The decree also orders the Foreign Ministry and the Migration Service, together with the Ministry of Justice (Adalat), to submit to the Government of the country proposals for amendments to the national legislation within one month.
