Turkmenistan resumed regular railway service with Iran on September 1. The movement of freight trains is carried out according to a regular schedule through customs checkpoints at the border crossings Serakhs-Serakhs, Artyk-Lutfabat and Akyaila-Incheburun.
Since April 1, Turkmenistan has imposed restrictions on freight rail links with Iran in order to prevent the import of coronavirus into the country.
At all checkpoints of the country, a regime of enhanced sanitary and epidemiological control has been introduced, disinfection tunnels have been erected, and other security measures have been provided. The personnel working at the crossing points, who are supported with personal protective equipment and everything necessary according to the Protocol of the Ministry of Health, have undertaken proper training.
