The harvest festival was celebrated in Turkmenistan today – a colorful celebration honoring farmers ends the harvesting season every year, and the origins of this tradition have a long history.
In Ashgabat, the center of the celebration was the capital’s hippodrome, where agricultural exhibitions and art exhibitions, ethnographic galleries, and concert venues were unfolded.
The field workers were the main heroes of the celebration. On the eve of the festivities, according to the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, agricultural producers with high performance, as well as successful agricultural scientists and other specialists of the agro-industrial complex were awarded state awards.
The hardworking farmers do not know breaks, but today the artists tried to please them with their favorite songs – folk and modern, to give a bright holiday and to express gratitude from each and every citizen of the country for the work, thanks to which the generous Turkmen dastarkhan is always ready to receive guests and friends.
And one more holiday tradition of the Turkmen is to hold horse races during big celebrations.
The spectacular show was a continuation of the festivities, gathering a lot of racing fans and no less emotional admirers of the beauty of Ahal-Teke horses in the stands of the Ashgabat hippodrome.
