Turkmenistan can be a promising transit hub for Armenia with Asian countries

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia, jointly with the Yerevan State University organized and held the conference titled “Caspian Sea – Sea of Opportunities”. This initiative was dedicated to the First Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held on August 12, 2019 in Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The conference has gathered heads and representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Transport, Communications and Information Technologies, Economic Development and Investments, Finance of Armenia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia, as well as diplomats of diplomatic missions and international organizations, accredited in Armenia, business and scientific representatives and media of Armenia.

During the meeting, ambassadors of the Caspian states, former Ambassador of Armenia to Turkmenistan Aram Grigoryan and others delivered speeches.

It was noted that the agenda of the First Caspian Economic Forum includes a wide range of issues that represent promising areas of interaction between the participating States. For the exchange of views and constructive discussion, such topical topics as intensification of trade and economic relations, including the creation of conditions for the development and implementation of large-scale international projects, will be proposed.

According to Armen Arzumanyan, Deputy Minister of transport, communication and information technologies, Turkmenistan can be a very interesting transit transport hub for Armenia with Asian countries.

“It is very important for us to find common ground in different sectors of the economy, including transport and communications. As you know, we have very interesting plans regarding the relations between our countries – Armenia and Turkmenistan – in the field of high technologies. We also believe that Turkmenistan can become a very interesting transit transport hub for Armenia with Asian countries,” Arzumanyan noted.

On the sidelines of the Forum, an International Exhibition of Innovative Technologies of the Caspian States, which is designed to become a platform for establishing business contacts and introduction of new technologies, services and solutions in various areas of the economy, including the fuel and energy sector, transport and logistics, industry, trade, tourism etc. is planned to be held.
