Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey expand cooperation in green technologies

A trilateral meeting on energy cooperation between Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan was held in Istanbul, during which the parties discussed the issues related to the prospects for the development of cooperation between the countries in the energy sector, Trend informs citing the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey.

During the discussions, particular attention was paid to the areas of energy efficiency and energy security, alternative energy and green technologies.

Such important projects as Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Transport Corridor Lapis Lazuli, the Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) and the restoration of the Great Silk Road are of joint regional interest.

It was noted during the session that regular meetings of the ministers of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey form a strong base for cooperation in trilateral format.

The Joint Declaration was signed upon completion of the meeting, aimed at widening the present cooperation including the holding exhibitions, conferences and seminars as well as strengthening of ties between the companies, scientific and research centres, working in the oil and gas industry and the energy sector of the three countries.

The next meeting will be held during X International Gas Congress, which to be held on May 21-22, 2019 in Avaza National Tourist Area.

The business forum is a prestigious platform that helps develop and strengthen the partnership with Turkmenistan in the oil and gas industry. It is expected that event would gather the representatives of the world’s leading oil and gas companies who are willing to share their rich experience in this industry.
