The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who is on a working visit to the city of Tunisia, and Khmais Ginaoui, the Foreign Minister of the Tunisian Republic, signed memorandums of understanding, reports the media of this country.
The documents are aimed at intensifying diplomatic interaction and relate to the organization of political consultations, as well as aimed at establishing cooperation between the universities of the two countries preparing future diplomats.
After talks with his Tunisian counterpart, Meredov said that Turkmenistan aims to intensify political consultations with the Tunisian Foreign Ministry in order to enrich and expand the range of interaction, and also stressed the high level of cooperation among countries within reputable international organizations.
Khmais Ginoui said that the visit of the head of the foreign ministry of Turkmenistan to Tunisia is historic and opens up new prospects for establishing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, tourism and culture.
The Tunisian Foreign Minister noted that he was looking forward to the next stage of negotiations and suggested developing agreements on avoiding double taxation, as well as on protecting investments between the two countries.
