Turkmenistan and the CIS stand for the strategic economic cooperation

The Declaration on strategic economic cooperation of the CIS member countries is planned to be adopted at the level of heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States in October. The draft of this document, along with other agenda issues, will be discussed at a meeting of the CIS Economic Council scheduled for Friday in Ashgabat.

Today, on Thursday, during a personal meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev discussed the agenda of the upcoming on September 13 meeting, as well as the agenda of the CIS Council of heads of state in October this year.

According to Lebedev, the adoption of the above mentioned Declaration, which was initiated by the President of Turkmenistan, would contribute to enhancing the economic dialogue between the CIS countries.
