Turkmenistan wrestler Dovletmyrat Orazgylydjov won 86 kg silver medal at the U23 Asian Wrestling Championships that finished in the Mongolian capital.
The Turkmen freestyle wrestler demonstrated a brilliant performance, surpassing his own result at the last year U23 World Championships in Bucharest, where he won bronze medal.
In Ulan Bator, Dovletmyrat easily managed to win the opponents from Kazakhstan, Mongolia and beat the athlete from India hollow. He failed to the Iranian wrestler only, who became the Champion of Asia.
Earlier, another Turkmen athlete Azat Hajiyev won 92kg silver medal of championship.
Now, Orazgylydjov, as other members of the national team of Turkmenistan, will prepare for the Senior Asian Wrestling Championships to be held in China in April, and after, the Senior World Wrestling Championships to be held in the capital of Kazakhstan, recently renamed from Astana to Nur-Sultan in honor of the country’s first president, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Young Turkmen wrestlers are also please us with their victories at international tournaments. At international wrestling tournament (freestyle) for boys up to 15-year-old “Zlati Dinev Roydev 2019” held in Bulgaria (Gylybovo) on March 15-17, Turkmen athletes won two medals: Ismail Muhammedov (38 kg) – silver, Soltansanjar Begenchev (62 kg ) – bronze.
These first medals of young wrestlers at international competitions would give them an impetus to reach new heights. In addition, today, the collections of both athletes have been added with gold medals of the home Youth Championships of Turkmenistan.
As representatives of the Wrestling Federation of Turkmenistan told, the winners of the national championship would have the opportunity to represent the country at the Youth Asian Championships, and those who distinguished would compete at the Summer World Combat Games in Budapest.
