Turkmen wrestler – bronze medalist of world championship in Bucharest


The athlete from Turkmenistan Dovletmyrat Orazgylydzhov won a bronze medal at the World Championship in wrestling among adults (under 23 years), held from 12 to 18 November in Bucharest.

In the final fight in freestyle wrestling a student of the National Institute of Sport and Tourism of Turkmenistan, performing in the weight category of 79 kg, won a landslide victory over the representative of Uzbekistan Isa Shapiev.

On the way to the coveted medal, Dovletmyrat defeated Mongolia wrestler Tugs Erden Denzsharav, Italian Dian Salvatore, and lost only to Russian athlete Haji Nabiyev, who eventually won the silver medal.

World champion and gold medal holder in the category of 79 kg is a wrestler from Georgia Nik Kenchadze. Another bronze medal was won by an athlete from the host country Omaraskhab Najmudinov.

In September of this year, Dovletmyrat Orazgylydzhov won the silver award of the International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament in Minsk. Also in his medal arsenal are three “bronzes” – the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, the Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix in Krasnoyarsk and the Asian Wrestling Championship in Bishkek.
