Turkmen wrestler became silver medalist of Asian championship

Turkmenistan’s Zyamuhammet Saparov became the silver medalist of the Asian Junior Freestyle Wrestling Championship, which was held on July 20-23 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Z. Saparov – 11-grader of the sports school “Olympus” – performed in the weight category of 100 kg. The first place in this category was taken by Seyed Mehdi Hashemi from Iran, and the bronze award was taken by the Kyrgyz wrestler Farhod Teshebayev and the Tajik wrestlet Rahmonjon Mahmadbekov.

In 2016, Zyamuhammet won the gold medal at the International Games “Children of Asia” (on photo).

A young but very promising athlete is one of the main contenders for a place in the national team of Turkmenistan, which in less than two months will defend the sporting honor of the Motherland in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.

Sports wrestling, which includes two disciplines – Greco-Roman and freestyle, has been included in the program of the Games in 2017.
