Turkmen music group “Archabil” will take part in the International Festival “Sharq Taronalari” – “Melodies of the East” in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on August 25-30.
The music festival was founded more than 20 years ago, being one of the major festivals in Central Asia. Biannually, in late summer, Samarkand gathers hundreds of talented singers, dancers and national musical instrument performers on the square of the famous Registan Complex, presenting the cultural traditions of different peoples of the world.
The program of Turkmen music group contains lyrical folk songs, which will be sung by the favorite of Turkmen public, Guvanch Yazmamedov. The compelling improvisation will be also presented on percussion by the well-known percussionist-virtuoso Hakberdy Allamuradov.
The festival will host a scientific and theoretical conference on the theme “Prospects for the development of traditional musical art of the peoples of the East”.

In 2009, people’s singer of Turkmenistan, bakhshi Lyale Begnazarova won the Grand Prix of the International Festival “Sharq Taronalari”.
