On February 22, the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) organized a Turkmen-Korean business forum in Seoul with the participation of representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The forum, which was held jointly with the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Turkmenistan and Korea, was attended by the Minister of Industry and Communications of Turkmenistan and the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea.
Over the past 10 years, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Korea has increased about 17 times. We look forward to cooperation in the field of industrial production, social infrastructure and modernization of public transport, ”said the deputy chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
More than 100 delegates attended the meeting. The parties discussed ways to expand partnerships in the field of infrastructure, resource development, construction, and promising areas of cooperation.
Korean companies have declared their readiness to contribute to the economic development of Turkmenistan on the basis of high-level technologies in various fields, such as the chemical industry, construction and infrastructure.
In addition, according to the Korean financial news site fnnews.com, Korean companies may be interested in finding and developing natural gas deposits that are rich in territory of Turkmenistan.
