The economy of Turkmenistan gained a confident start in the first month of 2020 – the country’s economic growth rate in January totaled 6.3%. Macroeconomic indicators of the first month of the year were reviewed at a session of the Turkmen Government.
As was specified a session, the growth rates over the period under review were as follows: more than 4% in industry, 10% in transport and communications, more than 11% in trade, and over 7% in services.
The fuel and energy complex demonstrates good performance: the production plans were fulfilled 109.7% for oil and gas, 103.5% for gasoline, 107.2% for diesel fuel, as well as 107% for oil refining. The fulfillment of plans totaled 135.5% for the production of liquefied natural gas, 106.1% for the production of natural and associated gas, and 104.2% for exports of gas.
High growth dynamics since the year beginning were recorded in the cargo and passenger transportation, the production of electricity, building materials and agricultural goods.
