Turkmen coaches underwent training at the Academy of the International Tennis Federation

Thirty national tennis coaches, as well as the administrative staff of the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan underwent online training at the Academy of the International Tennis Federation (ITF Academy).

Courses prepared by ITF experts are aimed at improving the quality of coach-ing, developing the skills in organizing and conducting classes.

These include, for example, how to prepare for foreign competitions, adapt the body to training and competitions away from home, train female athletes tak-ing into account all the characteristics of their body, and many other areas.

Online courses were accompanied by the study of theoretical material, ac-quaintance with the latest scientific research results into increasing the efficien-cy of training, as well as demonstration of video lessons.

All this has significantly broadened the knowledge base of instructors from the regions of Turkmenistan and Ashgabat, which, according to experts, will con-tribute to the successful training of high-class players. Upon completion of the courses, the participants were awarded certificates on behalf of International Tennis Federation President David Haggerty.

Launched in 2019, the ITF Academy is an important tool for the continued professional development of coaches and athletes as well as competition or-ganizers. At the same time, the Academy offers many resources that will bene-fit not only coaches, but also parents and teachers. Resources are available in English, French and Spanish.

“It has been proven that an access to high quality tennis training is a very im-portant factor in expanding participation in tennis. We were delighted to see that coaches around the world take advantage of our resources at the ITF Academy this year, with an increase in the number of registered users on the platform”, ITF Executive Director of Tennis Development Luca Santilli said.
