Turkmen chess player Meilis Annaberdiev took second place at the Open International Tournament in Turkey, which ended May 5.
Starting with an insulting draw in a game with a chess player from the Turkish city of Mersin, in the second round Meilis confidently beat an opponent from Iran. But the most important and difficult game was with Milan Pakher from Slovakia. Her Mailis also ended with a draw.
As a result of nine rounds, Slovak became the winner of the tournament, completing all the matches without a loss. Meylis Annaberdiyev lost only once – to the chess player from Turkish Izmir Efe Mertu Qilic.
This year, the 5th Open Chess Tournament in the Turkish city of Ordu, a prestigious chess competition, hosted about a hundred players from over a dozen countries.
