Turkmen ambassador tells foreign students of Minsk about neutrality

The ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Minsk Nazarguly Shagulyev met with foreign students of the Belarusian State University and told them about the role and importance of Turkmen neutrality, the 25th anniversary of which is celebrated this year.

The meeting was also attended by the leadership of the administration and faculties of the university, its international relations department. In his speech, the ambassador revealed the essence and basic aspects of the neutral status of Turkmenistan, the acquisition of which predetermined the strategic foreign policy of the state. It was also about the current situation of Turkmenistan in the international arena. In particular, the emphasis was placed on Turkmen-Belarusian cooperation.

In the framework of the meeting, Oksana Zdrok, BSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Educational Innovations, Victor Shadursky, Dean of the Department of International Relations, and Tatyana Azarevich, columnist for the Transport Vestnik newspaper, made expert opinions on the topic.

3715 foreign students from over 60 countries study at BSU. Of them 891 are citizens of Turkmenistan.
