In February 2020, Turkmen Airlines will open regular flights with the cities of Jeddah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
Recently, passenger and cargo air transportation in Turkmenistan has received a powerful impetus for development. The country has built modern airports that meet high international standards, and the aircraft fleet is replenished with aircraft of the latest modifications from the most famous aircraft manufacturers in the world.
As for the Turkmen airports, from a geographical and economic point of view, they have an exceptionally favorable location for transit flights, as well as for technical landings and related aircraft maintenance.
All these factors allow Turkmen civil aviation to constantly expand the geography of international flights.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, in January-August 2019, compared with the corresponding period of 2018, as reported by the Türkmenhowaýollary Agency (Turkmen Airlines), the volume of cargo transportation increased by 34.6%, cargo turnover – by 34.0%. Passenger traffic increased by 2.3%.
