From June 19 to June 22, Ashgabat will host an exhibition of Ebru works – paintings painted on water by the Turkish painter Kubilaya Dincher.
The art of ebru is that the paints that are not mixed together are applied to the surface of the water, and then with special brushes and sticks the paint stains give the desired shape. On the resulting multi-colored pattern impose a special paper on which the image is printed.
At the time of the Ottoman Empire, ebru patterns were traditionally used for book design. And now this art form is popular with art therapists, since the creation of ebru-ornaments soothes a person. Therefore, interest in this type of painting in our days is only growing.
Now Kubilay Dincher is professionally engaged in ebru in his workshop in Kadikoy. He will demonstrate to Ashgabat the simplicity and elegance of this artistic technique, which everyone can now master.
