The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) discussed measures to prevent the undesirable aftermath of a new type of coronavirus pandemic (Сovid-19). Meetings between representatives of the commerce and industry chambers of the organization’s member and observer states were held via videoconference. An exchange of views took place on measures to prevent the negative economic effect of pandemic.
Turkic Council Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev said that the countries of the Turkic Council keep in close contact with each other in order to provide medical and technical assistance in combating the pandemic.
Amreyev offered preparing a series of proposals for the creation of mechanisms that would allow the member states to jointly respond to such global crises. The Secretary General also informed that an emergency summit of the Turkic Council heads of state and government will be held through videoconference in one of the coming days (link:).
