The Gaziantep Airport, southeast Turkey, will host the III TEKNOFEST-2020 International Festival of Aviation, Space and Technology at September 22-27, 2020.
As the ORIENT correspondent was informed by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat, the TEKNOFEST Festival is organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey.
Exhibitions of the Astronomical Planetarium, aircraft, meetings of representatives of leading core enterprises, investors and corporations, competitions, winners of which will be awarded with the prize money, are scheduled to be held within the scope of the Festival
This year there will be competitions in about 20 different categories, including unmanned flying and underwater systems, rocket, robotics and artificial intelligence systems.
Last year, 17,373 teams and 50,000 participants from 122 countries and 81 districts of Turkey took part in competitions. About 2,000 teams and 10,000 applicants reached the final. The organizers said that the last day of the festival – September 22 – gathered one and a half million of visitors.
In addition, the Festival program includes entertaining and training workshops on such topics as Rocket Design, Aviation and Space, Spacecraft, Traces of Prehistoric Period, Nanotechnology, Electronic Programming, Energy Technologies, Robotics Coding, Mobile Application & Coding and more. Concerts and parachute jump show will be performed as part of the festive event.
At the TEKNOFEST-2019 air show, which took place at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport, the Solo Türk (Turkish Falcons) and the Stars of Turkey, the aerobatic demonstration teams of the Turkish Air Force, as well as Russian passenger and fire planes Су-30, Су-35, MC-21, and Redbull aerobatic planes were among participants.
