Turkey calls up Turkmenistan to join Turkic Chamber of Commerce

The first meeting of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, created in May 2019 by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey in order to stimulate regional trade, was held in Istanbul this week.

During the meeting, the Minister of Trade in Turkey, Ruhsar Pekcan, spoke on, who calls up Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to join the Turkic Chamber of Commerce for more effective development of commercial relations between the countries of the Turkic world.

The volume of trade between countries that were originally part of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry increased by 16.7% in 2018, which means 6.5 billion USD. But this amount may increase to 9 billion with the inclusion of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
