There are more women and youth at the diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan

Today diplomatic workers in Turkmenistan are congratulated on their professional holiday. Representatives of the country’s Foreign Ministry participated in a scientific and practical conference on the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.

The conference was also attended by members of international organizations and diplomatic missions of foreign countries. They pointed out an increase in the number of women in diplomatic corps and in key posts of the foreign ministry, and the active involvement in the work of young people completing line courses at Turkmen universities.

– I am particularly pleased to note that women diplomats holding high positions stand out noticeably among diplomats and officials representing Turkmenistan in the international arena. Turkmenistan pays due attention to enhancing the potential of the young generation of diplomatic workers. The priority is given in this respect to the objective of training a new formation diplomat – highly motivated and comprehensively educated, Natalia German, head of the Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy said.

She also thanked Minister Rashid Meredov for actively involving representatives of international organizations with offices in Ashgabat in lectures for students of the Institute of International Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The conference agenda also included discussion of the anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and the importance of this status for the country, region and the world.

– I consider it important to once again recall the three UN General Assembly Resolutions that support the permanent neutrality status of the country, including on declaring December 12 to be the International Day of Neutrality. Thus, the international community recognized that neutrality can be used as an important instrument for preventing conflicts and building global peace, Elena Panova, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan said from the rostrum.

Speakers repeatedly specified that the phenomenon of permanent positive neutrality of the country has long gone beyond the national significance. Thanks to the stable foreign policy aimed at systematically expanding cooperation with all interested partners, Turkmenistan acts in the international arena as a guarantor in the preservation and maintenance of political stability in the region, and development of good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation.
