The anniversary X Gas Congress of Turkmenistan opened in the Avaza national tourist zone. The forum is attended by over 200 delegates from 30 countries.
Representatives of the largest gas and oil corporations – Petronas, CNPC, Dragon Oil, Shell and others will discuss prospects for establishing and expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan on the coast of the Caspian Sea.
Over the course of two days, a number of projects will be discussed that are of great interest to foreign investors. They are aimed at diversifying gas supplies from Turkmenistan to regional and global markets. Among them: the intensification of work on TAPI, the construction of land and underwater pipelines (in the context of the construction of Line D of a gas pipeline to China and the Trans-Caspian pipeline), the expansion of the sector of the oil and gas processing industry. Also, delegates will address issues of ecology and adaptation of current industries to the “green” requirements that time dictates.
Presentations at the opening of the Congress were made by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Muratgeldi Meredov, the Chairman of the Turkmengaz State Concern Murat Archayev, the Regional Director of the British oil company Gaffney, Cline & Associates, John Gaffney, and United Nations Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Elena Panova.
