The State Circus of Turkmenistan received a gift from the US Embassy

Today Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan hosted an online ceremony for presentation of circus equipment – clubs, cables, equipment for trapeze artists. The online event was attended by US Charge d’Affaires in Turkmenistan Valerie Chittenden, representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the State Circus of Turkmenistan, as well as the media.

“It is a great honor for me to celebrate the friendship between the two countries by presenting circus equipment on behalf of the American people at today’s meeting. As an interim ambassador, I am glad that I have an opportunity to participate in this ceremony and support the Turkmen culture. I hope to visit your state circus soon,” said Valerie Chittenden, US Charge d’Affaires in Turkmenistan.

As the diplomat noted, this is only a fraction of the cooperation between the United States and Turkmenistan in the field of culture. Since 2017, an exchange of experience has taken place between colleagues of the two countries at the Turkmen State Institute of Culture, specialized art schools in Lebap and Dashoguz regions, and various presentations were also held in the cities of Dashoguz, Mary and Turkmenabat.

“This equipment and work visits that took place on the eve of this ceremony are a symbol of our common goal – to develop professional skills and support cultural programs. The constant cooperation between the masters of circus art of the two countries expresses our deep respect and admiration for the Turkmen culture. This experience exchange program develops our cultural ties,” said Charge d’Affaires.

“I am honored to present this equipment to you on behalf of the US government and people on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence Day. I am glad that the two countries have the opportunity to continue the friendly cooperation of circus performers,” added Ms Chittenden. “We hope that every time this gift is used, it will remind us of the strong relationship between our peoples. I look forward to working on similar experience sharing programs in the future.

“This event is a continuation of the program of the US Embassy in Turkmenistan,” says Bilbil Babayeva, head of the international relations department of the Ministry of Culture. – According to this program, experts in circus art came to Turkmenistan with master classes in aerial gymnastics, acrobatics and pantomime.

– Our group has become a laureate of world circus festivals five times. Now we teach young children the techniques of national games with the “Galkynysh” group and train Ahal-Teke horses. We are ready to perform at any time and we want to assure that we will achieve the best results, – said the artistic director of the State Circus Pygy Bayramdurdyev.
