The second power line from Turkmenistan to Iran will resume operation after six months of shutdown. This was stated by Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanyan, Mehr news agency reported.
The agreement on this was achieved within the framework of President Hassan Ruhani’s visit to Turkmenistan and top-level talks with Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Ardakanyan told journalists.
After the talks held during the visit, it was decided that the second power transmission line from Turkmenistan to Iran, which, as agreed by the parties, was turned off over the past six months, will be back in operation in the coming days.
The Minister added that soon the construction of the third power line between countries with the capacity of 500 kW will be completed. To discuss the progress of the construction of this line, Iranian delegation will visit Turkmenistan in the upcoming days.
