The federal customs service (FCS) of the Russian Federation, has published statistics of the foreign trade turnover of Russia for January-May, 2020.
According to the customs statistics during this period the foreign trade turnover of Russia has made up 224 billion US dollars and as compared with January-May, 2019 it was reduced to 17 %, export – by 22,3 %. To the share of the countries of the far abroad it made up 87, 4 %, to the CIS countries – 12, 6 % .
According to the given statistics, the Russian export for January-May 2020 to Turkmenistan made up about 328 million US dollars and import of Turkmenistan – 246, 8 million US dollars.
The same indicators for the similar period of 2019 – 111, 2 million dollars and 65 million dollars accordingly.
Alexander Blokhin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan at a briefing with journalists told recently about development of Russian-Turkmen trade and economic cooperation, including in the oil and gas sphere.
– In 2019 goods turnover between Russia and Turkmenistan increased by 1,5 times and made up 695 million US dollars, and taking into account deliveries of Turkmen gas reached about 1 billion US dollars, – the diplomat said.
Alexander Blokhin noted that the first half of 2020 also shows goods turnover growth. So, in the 1st quarter the goods turnover volume grew by 2, 7 times as compared with the same period of 2019.
He pointed out that such growth is provided at the expense of new large-scale projects. Including, he told that company “Vozrazhdeniye” has won the tender for the building of anti-mudflow constructions in Ashgabat, «KAMAZ» delivers the automobile technics for various branches of Turkmenistan. “Tatneft” continues cooperation with “Turkmenneft”. The Russian factories have carried out large deliveries of pipe production and others.
– We have good relations practically in all spectrum, including economic sphere, and in particular, gas sphere, – the ambassador told, having noted that “Gazprom” continues to buy Turkmen natural gas under earlier concluded contract with SC “Turkmengaz”.
The diplomat expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side that it works hard to support the level of strategic partnership between two friendly countries.
Speaking about cooperation of Russia with Turkmenistan in the oil and gas branch, the ambassador marked successful partnership under the civil-engineering design of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI).
«We are ready to deliver, and have already started it to do, pipes, the equipment, for this project. So, at the Turkmen site of TAPI 90 % of pipes of big diameter was delivered by the Russian company», – A.Blokhin said.
