A round table meeting on the 1st Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held on August 12, 2019 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone (Turkmenbashi), was held today in Tbilisi, at the Grigol Robakidze University.
Representatives of the academic environment, economic experts and journalists from leading local publications were invited to participate in the event organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.
For a start, a video presentation of the Caspian Economic Forum was presented to the gathering, the initiative of which was held in Turkmenistan by President Berdymukhamedov at the Fifth Summit of the heads of the Caspian littoral states.
Then there was an exchange of views on the significance of this forum, as the Caspian Davos. One of the most important tasks of the CEF is to activate the unifying factor of the Caspian Sea to consolidate efforts to expand trade and economic cooperation, including the development of mechanisms for the efficient use of natural resources, the implementation of joint investment projects and programs, the creation of joint ventures and the stimulation of an active dialogue between business circles of countries not only of the Caspian basin but also other regions of the continent.
The CEF should become a large platform for the formation of joint regional and sectoral economic development agendas based on the intersectoral direct interaction of states. And its first release promises to be a grand event with the participation of governments, business leaders, leaders of international organizations, world market analysts and leading media outlets from dozens of countries.
