Aijahan ATABALLYEVA

An exhibition “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road”, featuring thematic works of famous painters of the country, opened in the gallery of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan. Among them: Kamil Veliakhmedov, Tachmurad Eyamberdiyev, Juma Aman Durdi, Meret Gylydzhov, Tachjemal Klychdurdyeva, Berdysakhat Kurbansakhatov and others.

The paintings – symbolically or quite realistically – recreate the art of the times of the Great Silk Road and immerse in the atmosphere of that period.

Turkmen land since ancient times was an important crossroad for many trade paths – the branches of this historical route. It connected Europe and Asia not only with economic contacts, but also spiritually, endowing travelers with the mission of being the vehicles of the achievements of science, culture and arts of many peoples inhabiting the expanses of the continent in different parts of the world.
