The exhibition of Saragt Babayev extends its work in Ashgabat

A one-man exhibition of works by famous Turkmen sculptor Saragt Babayev is extended till February 20. It was scheduled initially that the exhibition, opened on January 30 at the gallery of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan, will be closed on February 15

Since its opening, more than a thousand visitors enjoyed the exhibition, which features works of easel, monumental, decorative sculpture, as well as portraits of famous soldiers, generals, poets, and political figures.

“Indeed, we received a lot of calls, the people asked to extend the exhibition, so Saragt Babayev made such a decision,” the ceramist and employee of the Academy of Arts Gulyara Babayeva, the spouse of the master, said to ORIENT.

Today, the exhibition center of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan hosted the creative meeting of Saragt Babayev with students and young artists. The master shared with them stories from his personal experience and answered many questions about life and work.

Gulyara Babayeva also added that they have started preparation for the International Women’s Day. In March, two exhibitions of works made by women masters to be opened. One exposition will be held at the gallery of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan, while second – at the exhibition hall of the Museum of Fine Arts.
