Political consultations between the diplomatic departments of Turkmenistan and Germany were held on Tuesday, September 29th, via video link. Turkmenistan was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hadzhiev, and Germany was represented by Plenipotentiary for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Michael Siebert.
Representatives of the Foreign Ministries exchanged views on internal political processes in both countries, considered the bilateral agenda, including trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Germany, noted the productivity of interaction in international formats, in particular the UN and the EU. The interlocutors paid special attention to regional security issues.
In the context of the Turkmen-German partnership, transport and energy were singled out among the promising spheres. The diplomats noted the effectiveness of cooperation in the field of ecology and climate change, in particular, within the framework of the Green Central Asia initiative. The positive experience of interaction in the field of healthcare was also noted, the importance of consultations between specialists in the field of medicine was emphasized.
As for cultural and humanitarian cooperation, in this area the parties considered the possibilities of joint projects in the field of archeology and education.
