The cultural and sports festival of schoolchildren of the Caspian states ended in Avaza

The Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea hosted the ceremonial closing of the cultural and sports festival of schoolchildren of the Caspian states, the main purpose of which was to fully promote the discovery of the athletic abilities of young athletes.

The first place in the overall standings was awarded to athletes from Turkmenistan. The country’s youth teams won 35 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze medals. The second place in the team event went to Azerbaijan, the third one – to Kazakhstan.

Winners of the competition were awarded cups and medals from the All-Russian Federation of School Sports.

The Turkmen schoolchildren won the largest number of gold medals in the belt wrestling, adding five awards to the national team’s medal bank. In chess competitions, the athletes of the host country have four gold and three silver medals.

Competitions within the festival were held in six sports: futsal, volleyball, table tennis, chess, basketball 3 × 3 and belt wrestling.
