Sergei Lebedev, the chairman of the CIS Executive Committee –Executive Secretary considers the chairmanship of Turkmenistan at the Commonwealth for 2019 success-ful, as the CIS executive committee reports.
He told journalists of it before the beginning of the meeting of the Council of perma-nent representatives of participant countries of the Commonwealth before CIS charter and other bodies in Minsk.
– The chairmanship of Turkmenistan at the CIS runs rather successfully. And in the territory of Turkmenistan in the past six months there have been held many important events within the framework of its chairmanship and beyond its limits. I can mention the Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the Commonwealth of Independ-ent States and the meeting of Council of Heads of CIS governments, which was held on May 31 in Ashgabat, Sergei Lebedev said.
Nazarguly Shagulyev, a permanent representative of the country told of results of chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the CIS for the first half year at the meeting. He in-formed of the on-going preparation for the regular meetings of superior bodies of the Commonwealth as well as underlined an active work of the CIS bodies for sectoral cooperation.
At the meeting of the Council of heads of governments views of topical issues of eco-nomic interaction in the CIS were exchanged and a number of documents were signed. Members of the Council of permanent representatives discussed the outcome of the meeting of the Council of heads of governments of CIS held in Ashgabat on May 31 and issues of realization of the adopted documents. They approved the Plan for reali-zation of assignments submitted by the Executive Committee of the CIS proceeding from decisions of the Council of ministers of foreign affairs of the CIS countries of April 5, 2019 and proposals of heads of delegations.
Proposals to the drafts of the agenda of the day of the regular meetings of the Council of ministers of foreign affairs and the Council of heads of governments of CIS coun-tries to be held on October 10 and 11 were also submitted for consideration of perma-nent representatives.
