About 200 delegates from the CIS countries have been invited to the XIV Forum of the Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS, which will be held May 15-16 in Ashgabat. This is reported by the website of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States (MFGS).
The forum, first held in 2006, has become an annual tradition. Each congress of the scientific and creative intelligentsia of the CIS is alternately held in different countries in order to expand cultural coverage and interaction between the participants. The forums summarize the interaction in the past year, discuss joint action plans, develop recommendations on the most pressing issues in science, education, culture, information, tourism, sports, and work with young people.
Ashgabat hosts the Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia for the second time. Formerly held in 2012.
The theme of the current XIV Forum is “Common humanitarian space of the Commonwealth: dialogue in the sphere of culture, science, education”. The meeting participants will discuss the prospects and plans of interaction, share experiences and exchange views, their vision of new forms of cooperation.
At the plenary sessions and in the core sections, scientists, education and arts specialists will consider various aspects of professional interaction in the mainstream of cultural dialogue.
The central panel discussion “Turkmenistan – the heart of the Great Silk Road” will be devoted to Eurasian cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
The highlight of the Forum will be the solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the main CIS Interstate Prize – “Stars of the Commonwealth”, which is awarded for outstanding achievements in the field of art, science and education.
There will also be an exhibition reflecting the joint work of the CIS countries on the humanitarian line. The theme of the exhibition will be the Book. As part of the announcement of the 2019 Year of the Book in the CIS, the Forum will also discuss the problems of promoting reading.
The exhibition will feature the best publications of recent years and literature donated from all participating countries to the National Library of Turkmenistan as part of the “Books as a Gift” event.
The Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan will host the performance of the CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra. Guests and residents of the Turkmen capital will hear in his performance the music of composers from the Commonwealth countries.
The forum will end with the adoption of a resolution in which the participants in the event will summarize the results of their joint work and formulate tasks for the near future.
The Forum is planned to include: Chairman of the Board of the MFGS, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation Polad Bulbul oglu, Co-Chairman of the Board of the MFGS, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, well-known public figures, representatives of science, culture, education , heads of relevant ministries and departments of the Commonwealth countries.
