Expansion of the TATNEFT project in Turkmenistan, implemented jointly with the State Concern Turkmenneft, will make it possible to additionally produce more than 770 thousand tons of oil. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov announced this in an interview with TASS.
“TATNEFT is now successfully implementing a service contract aimed at increasing oil production in Turkmenistan. The implementation of a set of measures at two oil fields of the Turkmennebit State Concern made it possible to produce more than 280 thousand tons of oil. At present, the Turkmen and Tatarstan oilmen have developed plans for the further expansion of the contract between PJSC TATNEFT and GK Turkmenneft to cover additional oil fields. Expanding the scale of the project, according to our forecasts, will make it possible to additionally produce more than 770 thousand tons of oil,” he said.
In early December, TATNEFT and the State Concern of Turkmenistan Turkmenneft signed an additional agreement on the continuation of work at the Goturdepe field until 2028. The agreement expands cooperation between companies in the field of enhanced oil recovery. According to it, the work program includes the first, second and third oil fields of NGDU Goturdenebit, in addition to those where Tatneft introduced its technologies in 2011-2014 and 2018-2020.
Initially, the partners signed a Memorandum of Partnership Development at the Turkmenneft fields in 2018.
