The Taliban movement is ready to enter into negotiations with the Kabul delegation within a week after the release of all prisoners, Taliban Representative Suhail Shahin declared.
He told in an interview with BBC that the Taliban delegation will be led by Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, who previously took part in negotiations with the United States.
Commenting on the readiness of the rebel movement for a ceasefire, Shahin stressed that this issue will be discussed during the inter-Afghan dialogue. He added that the Taliban have now reduced their fighting activity.
It should be reminded that yesterday, delegates to the Loya Jirga (People’s Congress) decided to release 400 Taliban prisoners and called on the Taliban to declare a ceasefire without preconditions. It is expected that the release of the prisoners will be followed by inter-Afghan negotiations in Doha.
