The implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project is, first of all, energy security in the region and the countries participating in the project – providing Afghanistan, Pakistan and India with reliable and cheap natural gas.

Muhammetmyrat Amanov, CEO of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited, announced that a meeting of the TAPI project steering committee will be held in Ashgabat in the near future, the Pajhwok news agency reported.

Pakistani Ambassador to Moscow Shafkat Ali Khan said that the country is committed to the Pakistan Stream project, and legal issues are now being discussed between the leaders of the states. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

The Afghan Foreign Ministry introduced Fazal Mohammad Sabir as Afghan Charge d'Affaires in Ashgabat. According to TOLOnews, the ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Afghan diplomats.

Acting Minister of Mines and Oil of Afghanistan Shahabuddin Delawar said on Tuesday that delegates from Turkmenistan plan to visit Kabul on March 10 to discuss the TAPI project.

Moscow considers the prospect of Russia's participation in the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline project "politically attractive", Zamir Kabulov, special representative of the Russian president for Afghanistan, director of the Second Asia Department of the Foreign Ministry, Zamir Kabulov, said in an interview with TASS.
